Sweet Family home By Christina Murphy

This lovely family home on the Upper East Side by Christina Murphy is one of her most charming projects and it's just come up for sale! This three bedroom apartment is the perfect Friday fantasy to wind down the week.

Dark aubergine-chocolate walls and a glistening gold ceiling bounce light around in this dramatic foyer. You've got to adore that greek key framed mirror. I know I do.

A brilliantly planned solution to a long and skinny living room. Love the scale of the furniture, again, for the length and skinniness (is that a word?) of the room. Streamlined built-ins and a pair of tufted slipper chairs are killing me. Also the combination of the Quadrille Zig Zag and the brown and white cabana stripe is so lovely.

A four-seater games table is pretty much my go-to solution for what-the-hell-do-I-put-in-the-corner-of-this-freaking-living-room??

So this picture is in the listing, but not in Christina's portfolio, leading me to believe that this room was probably a later addition. That aubergine-chocolate color from the foyer walls pops up again here in the cushy sectional. Candy colored grasscloth is always a good choice. So is a greek key rug. And a Sputnik light. And reading sconces hung at the perfect height above the sofa. And pretty much everything else.

The modern kitchen is super slick, and I love the pendants and lucite bar stools. The kitchen built-in with colorful books and family pictures adds so much personality.

This blue and white master bedroom is total prep perfection. Simple, classic, effective, lovely.

Love white subway tile in a city kitchen. Love little white hex floor tiles with dark grout. Still love this birch tree wallpaper! Especially in a black and white bathroom.

This sweet space is an office and spare bedroom in Christina's portfolio pictures, and a darling nursery in the listing photos, leading me to believe someone had a baby girl! The combination of cream, cocoa, and pale pink is as sweet as Neopolitan ice cream. Love the big floral print on the club chair and roman shade (don't miss that light pink tape trim either!). And how great is the crisp white piping on that sofa?

Just relaxing here on the eve of the weekend and fantasizing that this is our next New York apartment. Wouldn't that be lovely?
